A possible philosophical dilemma with school

Is it possible that today’s schools are what they are because we have fallen for a naturalistic idea of what it means to be human, i.e. survival of the fittest, instead of God’s plan: being fit for service, i.e. service to others out of gratitude for God’s love for us?
